The Mitras Lightbar is Made in Germany and offers the following:
- Homogeneous, brilliant, and very bright light through a balanced mix of selected high-power LEDs in natural colors.
- Super smooth dimming with GHL Perfect Dimming Technology®
- Uniformly wide light distribution with a LED beam angle of 90° with Total Reflection and Diffusion Technology (TRDT™)
- Energy efficiency and long life through sophisticated thermal management (at least 60,000 operating hours)
- If controlled by the ProfiLux Aquarium Controller: Professional light dimming, an individual mix of the color spectrum, and water temperature-dependent downward control (light will be dimmed if water gets too warm).
- Full undimmed Light power when operated without ProfiLux (all LEDs light up to 100%)
- Energy-saving compared with traditional lighting approx. 50%
- Operation with safe voltage (24V)
- 8.4 W per 10 cm (3.93″) LED module

How Many Mitras Lightbars do I need for my Aquarium?
Select Mitras Lightbar, depending on the aquarium volume.
Rule of thumb:
- Low light requirement: 0.3 watts per liter
- Very high light requirements: 0.9 watts per liter
Often, a recommendation of “lumens per liter” is given. In our opinion, this makes only sense for Mitras Daylight. The lumen specifications are somewhat misleading for luminaires with high blue light components (Deep Ocean, Ocean Blue). If you compare it with the power of LED lights from other vendors you should keep in mind that they often only mention the higher power draw of the complete system, including the loss of the power supply.
Also, the efficiency (ratio between electrical power and light power) is very important when comparing. The Mitras Lightbar light module has an efficiency of about 92%, where most LED lights of other vendors have only an efficiency of about 75%.
Mounting Options
With the supplied stainless-steel brackets, Mitras Lightbar 3 can be conveniently mounted above every tank.
A flat bracket is also available if there is not enough space in the tank.
Operation Modes
Mitras Lightbar can be operated undimmed and dimmed.
If operated undimmed, all LEDs will run at 100%. There is no control needed. Activation and deactivation can be made through a simple timer.
Another option, however, is to dim and operate the Lightbar with a ProfiLux Controller (ProfiLux 4 or ProfiLux Mini/Light (WiFi), ProfiLux 3 is not compatible with Mitras Lightbar 3). All color channels can thus be dimmed independently. So all the ProfiLux Controllers simulation programs, such as sunrise and sunset, cloud simulation, thunderstorms, or calendrical moon phase simulation, are possible.
What’s needed to run the Mitras Lightbar 3
Depending on the configuration (see product images), you will need additional accessories to operate the Lightbar:
- Matching Power supply
- Mitras-LB-Splitter
- Mitras-Lightbar-ProfiLux ActiveSplitter
- Cable to ProfiLux (P4/Mini/Light: Mitras-Lightbar-Cable-RJ45)

You must select a power supply with at least the connected Lightbar’s power.
– If you want to operate several Lightbars together, choose a power supply unit with at least the total power of all connected Lightbars.
– If you want to operate up to 4 Lightbars together, you will need a Mitras Lightbar Splitter.
– If more than 4 Lightbars (up to 16) are operated together, you will also need a Mitras Lightbar-ActiveSplitter and corresponding Mitras-Lightbar-RJ45-Cables to connect to it.
