The ION Director® IL is the Industrial Line version of GHL’s proven ION Director® — identical technology, firmware, and sensor in a robust 12HU aluminum slide-in housing designed for professional installations.
Using state-of-the-art ion-selective technology, it automatically measures the five key marine water parameters — calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and nitrate — with laboratory-grade accuracy. The patented GHL multi-ion sensor requires no reagents. Instead, it uses cost-effective reference liquids for fully automatic calibration before each measurement. Inaccurate, time-consuming test kits are a thing of the past.
Beyond measurement, the ION Director® actively controls your water chemistry: it automatically adjusts dosing pump quantities based on measured deviations to maintain stable parameter levels. Choose between Add-On control mode (fixed ml adjustment) or Adaptive control mode (percentage-based adjustment) — compatible with Balling®, Triton®, and other dosing methods. The intelligent Doublecheck feature automatically repeats a measurement if results deviate from previous readings, then uses the most plausible values — avoiding errors caused by air bubbles, particles, or other disturbances.
Combine with the KH Director® IL for complete water parameter automation — measure and control alkalinity alongside Ca, Mg, K, Na, and NO3.
Important: The ION Director® is currently designed for marine water only. The available calibration fluids are formulated for marine conditions — measurements in freshwater will not yield accurate results.
Requires a GHL Doser 2.x / 3.x Standalone or a ProfiLux® 4 Aquarium Controller with a Doser 2.x / 3.x Extension (EXT). Three dosing pump heads are used for the measurement process (two for reference liquids, one for sample water).
