Summary #
Dynamic Nominal Value automatically shifts a sensor’s nominal value based on the live reading of another sensor, or based on a set of values from an uploaded file โ useful for example to gradually ramp a temperature setpoint or follow an external reference curve. This article covers linking a sensor to a channel and configuring the channel itself.
Applies to #
- ProfiLux 4 Series (incl. Industrial Line / IL)
- ProfiLux 3 Series
- Software:
- GHL Connect (App, Webinterface)
- GHL Control Center
Before you start #
- Dynamic Nominal Value is only available in Expert view.
- For general sensor settings such as regulation and alarms, see Sensors โ Configuration Guide.
Configuration #
Enabling Dynamic Nominal Value for a Sensor #
Within the sensor’s own settings, under Dynamic Nominal Value:
- Active: Enables Dynamic Nominal Value for this sensor’s regulation.
- Current Value: Shows the nominal value currently calculated by Dynamic Nominal Value (read-only).
- Channel: Selects which Dynamic Nominal Value channel this sensor uses.
- Open DNV-channel page button (GHL Connect App or Webinterface only): Opens the settings for the selected channel directly.
Accessing a Dynamic Nominal Value Channel #
- GHL Control Center: Go to Probe/sensor controls -> Dynamic Nominal Value X, with each channel listed and selectable directly.
- GHL Connect App: Open the relevant sensor’s settings page and use the Open DNV-channel page button described above.
General Settings #
- Source of Dynamic Nominal Value:
- None: Disables the channel.
- Actual value of a sensor: Uses another sensor’s live reading as the basis for the nominal value.
- File: Uses a set of values from an uploaded or manually entered data set.
- Sensor: Defines the sensor type this channel provides a value for. This applies regardless of the selected source, and determines the expected type of a source sensor or the unit of the values in an uploaded file.
- Offset: Added to the value from the selected source โ the source sensor’s reading, or the file’s value โ before it’s applied as the nominal value.
Source Sensor #
(When Source is set to “Actual value of a sensor”)
- Is From PAB Group: Selects the PAB group the source sensor belongs to (usually 1 โ a specialized PAB setting rarely needed).
- Has in This Group the Sensorindex: The index of the source sensor within that PAB group. GHL Control Center shows this index directly on the sensor in the tree view; the App doesn’t display it yet, but it can be counted from the sensor list order, starting at 1.
File Source #
(When Source is set to “File”)
- Import a CSV file to load its entries into a table on the page, or add entries to the table manually. Edit or delete individual rows as needed, then upload the table’s entries to the device. An existing file can also be deleted from the device’s filesystem.
- File upload is only available in GHL Control Center for the ProfiLux 3, and only in the App for the ProfiLux 4.
- The file is a semicolon-separated CSV with Date, Time, and Nominal value per line, and no header row โ for example:
01.12.2000;00:01;10,0 - Date, time, and the decimal separator in the file must match the format used on the system running GHL Control Center or the App, or the file can’t be parsed correctly.
- Ignore Year in Date: When enabled, the schedule repeats every year regardless of the date’s year value. When disabled, it only applies to the specific year given in each entry.
