Summary #
Select GHL devices use capacitive touch keys that may occasionally require recalibration โ for example when keys become unresponsive or trigger unexpectedly due to electrical interference from nearby equipment. This article explains when and how to run a calibration.
Applies to #
- ProfiLux 4 Series (incl. Industrial Line / IL)
- Mitras LX7 Series (incl. Industrial Line / IL)
- Software:
- GHL Connect (App, Webinterface, myGHL)
- GHL Control Center
When to calibrate #
Calibration is not required as part of the initial setup โ the factory calibration is suitable for normal use. Recalibrate when:
- One or more keys do not respond to touch.
- Keys trigger on their own without being touched. Electrical interference from nearby equipment (pumps, ballasts, power supplies) is a common cause.
Calibration #
Open the calibration settings #
- GHL Control Center: Open the Extras tab in the top menu bar. Under the Hardware section, click Keys.
- GHL Connect: Navigate to Extras โ Capacitive Keys.
The settings page shows a table with current key values and calibration data for diagnostic purposes.
Choose calibration type #
Select the calibration type using the radio buttons (GHL Control Center) or the Calibration dropdown (GHL Connect). The selection takes effect immediately and is saved automatically.
- Standard calibration: The device uses the factory default calibration values stored in the firmware. No further action is required after selecting this option.
- Custom calibration: The device uses the values from the last custom calibration run. To record new custom values, click Calibrate Keys and follow the on-screen instructions โ press each key firmly for approximately 2 seconds when prompted. The Calibrate Keys button determines the custom values but only has an effect when Custom calibration is selected.
Tips for a successful calibration #
- If keys are behaving erratically due to interference, place the device away from other hardware before calibrating to minimize electrical noise during the process.
- During custom calibration, do not touch the device except when explicitly prompted to press the keys.
Notes #
- “Hands off!” message does not disappear: Restart the device and try again. If the issue occurs repeatedly, contact GHL support.
