ProfiLux helps to simulate changes in environmental conditions   GHL products are used for controlling salinity, pH and Temperature. The delta treatments are achieved by using the ProfiLux feature ‘dynamic value’. They also use a GHL measurement cell in each system, furthermore the monitoring over internet, sms alarming and data logging are used. The graph below shows the ‘manipluated’ temperature using the ‘dynamic value’ feature. This project is made in academic cooperation with GEOMAR Institute Kiel.

ProfiLux in Genetics Of Musculoskeletal Disease Lab Zebra fish facility   GHL products are used for controlling water level, pH, conductivity, and temperature. The ‘programmable logic’ is used to obtain steady values of pH and conductivity by controlling the dosing pumps using a combination of timers and sensor readings. Furthermore the Profilux features for automatic water changes, alarms and data logging are in use in this setup. ProfiLux 3, Expansion Box, SMS Module and Dosers

Benthocosms in Kiel

ProfiLux controllers support scientific experiments about the global climate change Following example shows in an impressive way how science uses one of the numerous special functions of the ProfiLux: The dynamic setpoint control. The scientists expose these biocoenoses to changed environment conditions. In one experiment the actual temperature and pH-value of the Kiel Fjord are measured and the forecasted changes for the temperature and the pH-value for 2100 are added up, then these values are simulated in the Benthocosms. In another experiment heatwaves of various frequency and intensity are simulated. Often the experiment conditions are varied in the several Benthocosms in order to be able to verify and compare the results later, some of the Benthocosms are operated under normal conditions as a control group. During these experiments the biologists can observe how the spectrum of the species change and how the ecosystem services in the biocoenoses are shifted. The…
