Applies to #
- ProfiLux Expansion Box 2
- Compatible controller:
- ProfiLux 4 Series (incl. Industrial Line / IL)
- ProfiLux 3 Series
- Software:
- GHL Connect (App, Webinterface, myGHL)
- GHL Control Center
Before you start #
- Expansion cards: Install any expansion cards into the Expansion Box before connecting it to the PAB chain. Expansion cards must be installed and removed with the Expansion Box powered off. See the Expansion Cards โ Setup Guideย article for installation instructions.
- PAB connection: Connect the Expansion Box to the PAB chain and assign it as described in the PAB โ Connection & Configuration Guide. All expansion cards must already be installed before running Assign Devices.
Configuration #
Access the Expansion Box configuration via the PAB device list. In GHL Connect, navigate to System โ ProfiLux Aquatic Bus (PAB) โ Assign and configure connected PAB-devices and tap the gear icon next to the Expansion Box. In GHL Control Center, navigate to System, expand the PAB node, select the Expansion Box, and click Configuration.
Built-in Sensor Port Measurement Range #
The Expansion Box has built-in sensor ports whose measurement type can be configured. In GHL Control Center, these settings appear at the top of the configuration panel:
- pH or Redox: First built-in port โ set to pH or Redox measurement.
- Redox or pH: Second built-in port โ set to Redox or pH measurement.
- Conductivity: Set to Freshwater (F) or Saltwater (S).
In GHL Connect, these are configured via dropdowns:
- pH/Redox: Inactive, pH, or Redox
- Redox/pH: Inactive, Redox, or pH
- Conductance: Inactive, Freshwater (F), or Seawater (S)
Enabled Inputs #
In GHL Control Center, a set of checkboxes controls which sensor inputs are active:
- Temp
- pH/Redox
- Redox/pH
- Cond F/S
In GHL Connect, setting a port to Inactive in the dropdowns above achieves the same effect.
Powerbar Start Number #
Sets the start number for non-digital Powerbars connected to the S-ports of this Expansion Box. This ensures socket numbering is sequential across all Powerbars in the system without gaps or overlaps. The setting is labeled Start number of powerbars connected to EXB (not digital).
Notes #
- Reassignment required after sensor configuration changes: After changing any of the built-in sensor port settings (measurement type or enabled inputs), you must unassign and reassign the Expansion Box via Assign Devices in the PAB configuration for the changes to take effect. See the PAB โ Connection & Configuration Guide.
- Reassignment required after expansion card changes: When expansion cards are added, removed, or replaced, the Expansion Box must also be unassigned and reassigned. Power off the Expansion Box before making any card changes.
- Resource numbering: All resources provided by the Expansion Box โ sensor inputs, L-ports, S-ports, and level ports โ are numbered sequentially by the ProfiLux in the following order: first the controller’s own internal ports, then any expansion cards installed in the controller, then the Expansion Box’s internal ports, then the Expansion Box’s expansion cards. If multiple Expansion Boxes are present, the same pattern repeats for each, in the order they were assigned. This determines which sensor number, socket number, or port corresponds to which physical connection.
- Mitras Lightbar port: The Expansion Box 2 includes a port for connecting Mitras Lightbar units. Configuration of connected Lightbars is handled in the Lighting settings โ see the Mitras Lightbar & Slimline โ Setup Guide for details.
