Troubleshooting & Resolutions #
Cause
Common causes include a 5GHz-only network (the ProfiLux only supports 2.4GHz), an incorrectly entered network name or password (both are case-sensitive), or a weak signal.
Solution
Confirm your network broadcasts a 2.4GHz band and re-enter the network name and password carefully via the Client settings in GHL Connect or GHL Control Center. Move the device closer to the router if signal strength may be the issue. See Network (LAN & WiFi) โ Setup Guide for the full setup procedure.
Cause
myGHL may not be enabled on the device, the device may not currently be reachable on your local network, or โ for static IP setups โ the DNS server field may be empty.
Solution
First confirm the ProfiLux is reachable on your local WiFi network (see previous issue). Then check that myGHL is enabled under System (GHL Connect) or System โ Communication (GHL Control Center). If you use a static IP, make sure a DNS server is entered in the Client settings. If the myGHL status indicator on the device is blinking, the device is actively reconnecting to the cloud โ allow a couple of minutes before troubleshooting further.
Cause
The USB driver may be missing or not installed correctly, the wrong COM port may be selected in GHL Control Center, or a non-original USB cable is being used.
Solution
Use the original USB cable that came with the device. Reinstall GHL Control Center to reinstall the USB driver, and verify the correct COM port is selected. See GHL Connect & GHL Control Center โ Installation & Setup for details on identifying the correct port.
Cause
The most common cause is an incorrect or faulty power supply โ the ProfiLux requires a 12V DC power adapter; using a supply with a higher voltage can permanently damage the device and is not covered under warranty. Less commonly, a firmware issue can leave the device unresponsive.
Solution
Confirm you are using the correct 12V power adapter. If you cannot connect to the device via WiFi or USB at all and only the GHL logo LED is lit, the device likely needs recovery โ see Firmware Update & Recovery for the emergency update procedure. If the logo is also off, test the power supply with a multimeter to rule out a faulty adapter before contacting support.
Cause
This is usually caused either by electromagnetic interference from a nearby device (commonly inefficient LED, fluorescent, or metal halide ballasts, or insufficient grounding), or by touch keys that need to be recalibrated.
Solution
To check for interference, temporarily move the ProfiLux to another room, power it on, and calibrate the touch keys โ if the issue disappears, there is likely interference in the original location that should be isolated where possible. See Touch Key Calibration for the calibration procedure. When calibrating, press each of the 6 keys firmly โ light or soft touches may not register and result in an incomplete calibration.
Cause
Recording is not enabled for the probe, or โ if enabled โ the ProfiLux intentionally does not log a new measurement when it is identical to the immediately preceding recorded value.
Solution
In GHL Connect, open the sensor’s page and enable Save Values, and set the desired Sample Period. In GHL Control Center, go to Probe/sensor controls -> Measurement data and check the box for the sensor, then set the Measurement period. See Sensors โ Configuration Guide for details. If values appear to be “missing” at regular intervals despite recording being enabled, this is expected behavior when consecutive measurements are identical rather than a fault.
Cause
pH, Redox, Conductance, and Oxygen sensors age naturally and require calibration every 2-4 weeks; a reading that no longer stabilizes during calibration or two calibration points that end up nearly identical usually indicate an aging or defective sensor. Implausible readings on a digital Temperature sensor are typically caused by accidentally altered calibration values.
Solution
Retry calibration with fresh calibration liquid first โ old or contaminated liquid can cause the same symptoms as a failing sensor. If calibration still won’t complete, increase the Calibration Tolerance (up to 4-5 for older sensors). If the two calibration values remain nearly identical, or the sensor still won’t calibrate after retrying with fresh liquid, the sensor has likely reached the end of its service life and should be replaced.
